Suicide By Pen

iI write & write until my heart gives out
but in the end, what's it all about?
how does it help & who does it touch?
through these eyes i can't see much,
   disappointment, pain & sorrow
   these are things that i see clear,
   but in regards to my tomorrow
   i fear its still a grainy haze,
my ongoing suicide by sharpened pen
is leaving me hollow & hurting once again,
still word by word i fill this page
just bleeding out, inside my little cage,
   so laugh at me or scream
   disregard or look at me,
   but know that once i had a dream
   & eventually, perhaps we'll see,
that what i've done was not in vain
so with a broken heart & an open vein,
i'll put to rest the rest of my petty pain
my eyes they close and the tears they fall like a pounding rain,
& this is how i know i've survived yet another fucking day...
